A4C on the Today Show for Women Doing Good

Athletes for Cancer's Executive Director, Tonia Farman, was featured on the Today Show last week for receiving SELF Magazine's Women Doing Good Award for 2012.

Tonia received the award for her work with Athletes for Cancer after her brother passed away from Leukemia in 2007. The annual award highlights the efforts and accomplishments of three women who, when handed a bad card at one point in their lives, turned around and made a difference in others' lives. The three winners were vetted and selected from thousands of reader nominations from across the country.

Amanda Traub, an Athletes for Cancer ambassador and camp participant, nominated Tonia in February when prompted by a Self Magazine promotion. Traub, from San Diego, attended one of Athletes for Cancer's adventure camps in November 2011.
